DON'T MISS OUT ON MILLIONS IN CONSTRUCTION WORK!

YOU will miss out on even knowing about a lot of small construction jobs if you do not sign up on the small works rosters with the state and local agencies doing construction work in your area. Recently, the Legislature and the Governor approved changes to the state's small works roster laws. These new changes increase the maximum amount of work that can be done under a small works roster - meaning no public advertised bid for jobs costing from $100,000 to $200,000. For projects under $100,000, the agency needs to go to only 3 of the firms on its small works roster and ask them to bid (no change from current law). For projects over $100,000 to $200,000, Independent Business Association fought successfully to require that the agencies notify ALL contractors on the small works roster list that do that type of work so they have an opportunity to bid. BUT, the only way you will know about these jobs is to be listed on their small works roster. So, contact all of the state and local agencies you are interested in doing business with and ask to sign up on their small works roster list. Some are reluctant to add names to their list, but it is your right as a contractor to get on that list. So don't let them push you away. If you have problems getting on the small works roster list with any agency feel free to call IBA at 425-453-8621 and we will try and help you.
