WISHA - Worker Safety and Health Regulations The Department of Labor and Industries has a special program for technical assistance to assist employers in complying with the state's worker safety and health regulations. The technical assistance representatives have no authority to issue fines or citations. However, if they see a very serious violation which threatens to injure some at any time, they can require you to stop that activity until you have corrected the problem. STATE BUSINESS TAXES The Department of Revenue has a taxpayer information service to provide technical assistance to business owners and managers. This assistance is provided over the phone or in written form. The DOR representative does not come to your business to review your records and procedures. You can request a voluntary compliance audit from the Department and such an audit will require you to pay any back taxes you should have paid but did not, plus interest, but no penalties will be assessed under a voluntary compliance audit.
